Bellamere Event Centre

EVENT OVERVIEW:
Stepping into valued life roles such as citizen, partner, teacher, friend, as well as service provider are indicators of recovery. There is a growing interest in the role of peer support as mental health services are considering how to offer service provider opportunities to their service recipients.

Many of us are navigating new territory as we consider how we might engage service recipients in meaningful roles within our mental health services. A number of our neighbours locally, provincially, south of the border, and across the ocean have already set sail. We can learn from listening to their experiences. Our two-day event offers you such an opportunity.

Day 1: Widening Our Lens on Peer Support
(9:00 a.m. registration – 4:30 p.m.)
Meet representatives who will describe progressive peer support initiatives from an
Ontario Mental Health Centre, a Community Mental Health Agency, an Assertive
Community Treatment Team, the Ontario Peer Development Initiative and the State of
Massachusetts.
